What to ask a breeder when purchasing a dog.
When purchasing a baby pitbulls, you want to ask the breeder many questions. Some of them are, can I pick the puppy up in person at your location? Are they up to date on shots? Do you have both parents UKC, ADBA, or ABKC papers? Do you have the puppies registration papers in hand? If the breeder answers NO to ANY of these questions, do not purchase the puppy. Most likely they are hiding something or do not have the proper registration papers.
When purchasing a dog out of state
When you purchase a dog online, or out of state, you still need to ask the same questions. Even though you are not picking them up in person, you still need to know if they will allow it. A scammer will not allow you to pick the pup up in person and pay cash since they are not planning on sending the dog. You should always pay through wire transfers as well. When sending payment through wire transfer, it is much more difficult for someone to hide their identity. Never send money out of the country through western union for ANY reason. Not only when purchasing a dog, you never want to send money out of the country for any purchase. Classified websites such as hoobly, craigslist, and http://www.ebayclassifieds.com/, are a prime example of sites with many scams.
To sum it up, the best way to purchase a dog is in person, on location, with the puppies papers as well as the parents papers in hand. This is the best way to avoid scams as well as false registration papers. There are many reputable breeders in the US. To find the best one, you should always call around and research the kennel. Google is a great place to start when trying to find a background on a kennel.
