Bully Girl Magazine – The Ultimate Bully Breed Resource
Bully Girl Magazine – No other Publication like it!
The Bully Community is full of fly by night, get rich schemes that don’t pan out, or flame out before they ever leave a vapor trail in the community. The community is chalk full of individuals trying to promote an image, or a persona. Often times these ideas or plans fall short due to a lack of foresight and vision.
The ability to adapt to a change in audience is what often separates those who succeed from those who fail. The Bully community is forever changing and the reality is that any business has to be able to change with it. It’s all about bending, yet being strong enough not to break. Bully Girl Magazine is one of the industries success stories that was able to roll with the punches and then throw a punch of it’s own.
The concept of Bullies and women was one that was established early on. Websites had “Chicks with Pits” pages, these photo shoots were often only comprised of non attractive women that would be willing to do anything strange for some pocket change.
The dogs and the women matched, in that the attraction level for both bordered on next to none. The women would take photos in front of dirty kennels, with dirty dogs, often in dirty swimsuits. Even though the pictures were often horrendous, individuals still allowed their mouses and computer screens to occupy the images.
After all sex sells and the Bully world had it’s fair amount of skin for sell. The motive was entirely based around individuals coming to see the girls, but leaving only after buying a dog. The women were the eye candy, and the bullies were the entree. Bully Girl Magazine was incorporated with a different thought process.
While other magazines would have scantily clad women inside of the pages, they never really advertised their magazine based on the women inside. The shoots were there, but in a way the photo shoots were hidden. Almost as if the magazines were ashamed of the imagery they promoted within their pages.
Bully Girl Magazine, tried a different tact! They came out in your face as what they were! Sex sells and BGM was where you could purchase it, up front and in person. The bully show scene always had beautiful women walking around passing out flyers, promoting clothing, or just posing with dogs. BGM was able to turn this aspect into the ultimate street team, and marketed the Bully Girl models, as THE models in the bully world. The magazine was selling like crazy and the company could have been happy to stay at those results, until the day those results were not enough.
As the magazine had grown, the content had also begun to change. The days of pages primarily of scantily clad women, were being replaced by pages of editorial content. Articles on care and health of the bullies began to take up space. The articles on kennels that were making a difference in their community were beginning to dominate the pages.
The pretty girls were still on the cover though, and it wasn’t until children began coming to the Bully Girl Magazine booth to purchase the magazine that LeVar and the BGM team realized that their audience had changed. They now were part of the community, and had a responsibility to that community to promote positivity, but also to promote it responsibly.
The challenge was not challenging, because the magazine had already begun making the switch months prior. The girls were still there, but their attire has changed. The mission statement has remained the same since 2010, and the companies growth and goals can be found within it’s words!
