The French Bulldog Club of America

The place to start is the French Bulldog Club of America (FBDCA). The FBDCA was founded in 1897 and is the oldest club dedicated to any breed in the world. They feature a Breeder Directory on their website and there is much more information there as well.
The FBDCA is interested in maintaining the highest standards for the breed. This means that breeders on the FBDCA list will not breed dogs with colors that do not conform to the best characteristics of the breed. Blue, liver, and black-and-tan are disqualifying colors for Frenchies and reputable breeders do not breed for these colors.
The FBDCA lists breeders in the United States and Canada. While there are not breeders in every state, the number of breeders is high enough that a breeder should be within driving distance in many, if not, most cases. The FBDCA can also be contacted directly for a referral through their website.
Local Blue French Bulldog Clubs
There are local Blue French Bulldog Clubs that can also give referrals to good breeders. While the club’s are not numerous or well dispersed geographically in the United States, you may be able to find a breeder in your area through them.
The American Kennel Club
The American Kennel Club also maintains lists of local kennel clubs, and this can be a good source for finding a good breeder. You can even plug in your zip code at the AKC website for a list of nearby breeders or read through a list of classified advertisements.
Dog Rescue Programs
In addition to the FBDCA and the AKC, another possibility is a French Bulldog rescue program. The French Bulldog rescue network has a website, and there are currently three local rescue programs in operation in America. If you are thinking about this option, consider that rescued dogs may be older and may have been mistreated. Also, you will not likely be given any information on the breeder of the dog. With this understanding in place, many rescue dogs make excellent pets.
“Blue french bulldogs health issues”
There are health issues related to Blue French Bulldogs, and the FBDCA is active in work to identify health issues in the breed and to help breeders avoid these issues. For example, the flat face of the breed can lead to breathing problems like Brachycephalic Syndrome. Brachycephalic Syndrome can be severe and it affects not only French Bulldogs, but also Pugs, Boston Terriers, Pekingese, Boxers, Shih Tzu, and all Bulldog breeds.
Buying a French Bulldog

Welcome to the French Bulldog world
French Bulldogs make wonderful companion dogs. They are affectionate dogs with a mild disposition. Frenchies are active, alert, and intelligent dogs with a small but muscular build. They make good watch dogs, and they are generally good with children. You should know that they are indoor dogs that require air conditioning in hot weather.
Whether you find your dog through the FBDCA, the AKC, a rescue program, or some other means, your French Bulldog can be a pleasant companion for you for many years.
